Fun, exhausting, and productive.

Though we already knew this, Amelia is a great reader, and her reading was very-well attended. Texas State represented--Sarah, Nick, Stacy M., Evelyn, Katy, another girl from the program, and myself were there.

For a brief exchange I got to see Christy G. in the hotel lobby and I regret that I didn't get more time to talk. Ben and John were working Front Porch like nobody's business and I also got to have brief visits with m.o.t.m.'s own RH and Katya. And Mark was there too. Though I didn't get a chance to talk to her and would have loved to at least say hello,I know Stacey S. was in attendance.

A cool, personal anecdote: Robert Olen Butler remembered my name from our previous FC2 correspondence. He's an advisory board member to the press.

My hubby's presentation was wonderful--probably two-hundred people or more to watch that panel, and my greatest achievment of the conference was getting away from the FC2 table long enough to watch him wow the crowd.

Those who didn't make it--I missed you and maybe next year?

I didn't know Ben and John were working Front Porch! I would have stopped by.

Everything was crazy. The reading was indeed well-attended and I felt very prepared and brave, thanks in part to the practice run I got at Katya's salon night.

I got to meet a ton of people I'd only talked to online, Molly Gaudry and Jonathan Messinger and Blake Butler. I heard Kim Chinquee read, and Brian Evanson, and Sean Lovelace (my favorite new-writer discovery).

Best of all, I got to see people I haven't seen in a while, Carmen and Sarah and Tom and Evelyn. Laughs and drinks and food and more laughs.
