Whose going to be in NY this week? I will only be at the BIG EVENT on Saturday to man the asf booth, but I was thinking we should get those representing the tsu-sm class of 07 together for a drink? My suggestion is to head down to the lower east side or even to brooklyn. there's not much happening in the way of night life up by the hotel. I know Abby, Jack, and Wolfe aren't coming. But Carmen, are you and Tall T gonna be around? Rebecca, you and Mark are coming right? Amelia, you're coming, too, if I remember correctly? Sarah, you coming or staying in Cali? If you are coming is James coming with?

If anyone is up for it, we could meet up Thursday night if that works.

If you have any getting around questions, please ask. I can maybe help.

Thursday sounds great to us. (This is my first NY trip, so I'm up for anything really.)

Amelia and I are coming. We'll both be in on Wednesday night. No James--he's got to work.

I'm thinking of going to the featherproof/another chicago magazine reading Thursday. (Details.)

Maybe we could all meet around there after? My plans can change if this is inconvenient.

Tom and I will be there. I'm getting really excited about seeing you guys!! Can I just dork it up for a minute and do a little repeat, repeat, excited, excited.

We get in late Wednesday night, and I'm not sure what we have to do Thursday. Tom has certain meetings he has to attend for AR and the magazine associations. So long as people can help me get back to the conference, I'll go anywhere.

I will be thinking about you all this weekend. I think I'm going to pretend like San Marcos is Manhattan and
go to a play or drink a manhattan or eat a soft pretzel.
Take pictures of each other!

There are current Bobcats I've heard will be attending: Evelyn, Stacy, Beth, Adam, and Ben.

I expect dispatches when you get back!

I know there are probably a ton of parties and readings you are looking to go to, but for those interested I was thinking Thai Thursday evening. There are a million and one places to eat Thai but I know of a pretty cool place--good atmosphere and pretty cheap-- that I was thinking of going to.

We could meet as early as 6 so those going to readings could make it. Or we could do it later. Because I'm not going to the conference I don't know the schedule. I really don't mind eating later or earlier.

What do you think?

http://www.hopstop.com/?city=newyork

this will be helpful to those looking to see stuff. buy a weekly metro pass and you ride unlimited the entire time you're here.

We're game. Post a time and a place, and we'll be there.

Thanks, B. I'm down for Thai, too.

Here's the info:
The restaurant is called Sea

114 N. 6th
Brooklyn

Here's directions from The Hilton:
When you walk out of the main entrance, you'll see Radio City down the street. Walk toward Radio City. Outside of Radio City you can jump on the F train (it's orange) going downtown. When you get to 14th get off. 14th is four stops. Follow the signs for the L train (it's grey). Take the L toward Brooklyn. Get off at Bedford. Bedford is four stops. When you come out of the ground you'll be on N. 7th. Walk one block to N. 6th, take a right and Sea is down on your left, a couple of blocks down.

Simply- Take the F downtown. Transfer to the L toward Brooklyn. Get off at Bedford Avenue.

What time do you folks want to meet? You should give yourself 35 min.

512-665-0658. Here's my number just in case.

Look forward to seeing those who can make it?
