Well, AWPers? What news?

While I wait for dispatches (and I know I won't get any until the weekend is over). Here's a link about the long wait from final draft to bookshelf.

Abby, I saw the story in Bellvue. Very cool. I was like, yeah I know this girl who wrote a story for you. The lady behind the desk loves the story.

New York! I shook enough hands that handshaking stopped having meaning beyond if the skin my fingers were touching was soft or not-soft. I wrote a story and entered it in the Redivider contest and saw a trash can on fire and slept in a conjugal bed and went to a reading and saw Russell Edson read and walked until my feet bled through my socks. Though I never stopped moving I didn't seem to get anything done.

Hey, I met Otis the baby, too! We hung out with Julianna Baggett at a Chattahoochee party, so maybe you can tell me now why her name is so very familiar to me!

She wrote a book called Girl Talk that I haven't read b/c of the title. I think she has more books, but I'm not sure. Seems to me she was making a big splash in the late 90's.

I should add that the beer spill was an accident, not some blatant attack. But I had the feeling afterwards that everyone around thought I was dangerous.
