I've never written a song, but reading about Suzanne Vega's songwriting process on this blog, made me think of how much my process has changed since I was a tween.
Uncovering a stash of my old journals dating back to the late 80's didn't hurt either. I guess that's the upside of packing.
I miss talking about process with you all.

Me too. Also, I wish me and Tom were packing up stuff and moving to some exotic unknown.
Carmen, you moving to Houston?
Abs - I feel you girl. I was just thinking about how weird my process of writing is now as compared to a year ago. I am trying to enjoy the change. Trying.
Maybe. As I think life maybe goes, we're kind of in limbo here before summer. We could be here, we could be in VictoporiA, TX, we could be in Missouri next semester. Can I get a woot, woot, on "we all need a vacation."
p.s.
Jack, i have stuff to say about your story and will be able to comment this weekend. Just trying to finish up this week of sobbing students--please, please isn't there anything I can do not to flunk--eeesh, those kind.
victoria texas has its own thing going, so i hear. the last boy i ever dated (high school) tracked me down in my office last week and told me all about living in victoria. he said it was pretty cool - and has a kind of raging, underground art scene.
don't worry about my story. it will still be there after your students dry their tears and celebrate passing English with a huge spliff.
