The archive of Henrich Boll, author of my favorite short story, Murke's Collected Silences was destroyed in a building collapse.

Here's Amelia's Amazon page.

Two more novels by Roberto Bolano found.

yay Amelia!

"City Council meeting minutes dating back to 1376" lost. My God, this article mounts horror upon horror. I know that sounds melodramatic, but I'm being serious. "Edicts by Napoleon Bonaparte," "Bolls 2,000+ letters to his wife." Wow. America really is so young.

I am bummed today that the Tucson Citizen is closing. Here's what the paper said about the shooting at the OK Corral in Tombstone, 1881:

"A day when blood flowed as water, and human life was held as a shuttlecock, a day always to be remembered as witnessing the bloodiest and the deadliest street fight that has ever occurred in this place, or probably in the territory."
